Moving to a new neighborhood can be exciting and unnerving at the same time. With a new place to look forward to, they can start with a clean slate and take advantage of the things their new location has to offer.
But before you explore the place, there are some things that you need to do to settle in your new location. If you are leasing one of the Business Bay apartments for rent on the listing, here are some things you need to do before and upon moving:
- Inform the building admin of your arrival
The first thing that you need to do is to inform the apartment personnel of your arrival. Do not do this the night before the move. The building admin would need to make preparations on the space, like checking whether the utilities are working or there are fixes in to be done on the unit that you will be renting. It would be best to notify the personnel at least a week before your scheduled move. You also need to ask if there are still some documents that you need to sign to make your transfer smooth and a breeze.
- Notify people about your new address
Aside from your building admin, you also need to notify some people and companies about your change of address. You need to inform close friends or relatives about your new location and also companies that are sending you mail or subscriptions. It is also important to process and notify change of address in your workplace. These notifications should be done before the move so that you upcoming mails will have your correct and new address on it.
- Arrange for movers to pick up and deliver your things
Once packing is done, you need to scout a moving company that will help you move and transfer your things to your new place. If you have a few things to bring, maybe you can manage it. Still, having a moving company to do the dirty work would give you more time to focus on other things like decorating the new place or processing papers.
- Acclimatize yourself in the neighborhood
If the location is entirely new to you, it would be best to get to know the place before the move. Visit the neighborhood and get familiar with the place. Read more about it if possible. Familiarize yourself with the move, the stores and other important establishments that you will be visiting in the future.
